Case Involving Aggrieved 499 Law Students Adjourned To November 19
The case involving the aggrieved 499 law students has been adjourned to November 19, 2021.
This is to enable lawyers for the students to study the Attorney General’s response to their suit.
The students claim they had successfully undertaken the law school entrance examination, but were denied admission, a claim which has since been disputed.
Parliament by a resolution subsequently directed the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Godfred Dame, to take steps to ensure that the General Legal Council admits them.
The directive has also since been rubbished by the Attorney General, who said Parliament was not clothed with the authority to make such a directive.
Mr. Dame however gave strong indications that President Akufo-Addo had given directives for the impasse to be resolved.
