A member of the Ashanti Regional Communication Team of the NPP, Mr Victor Osei-Poku has commended the efforts of the former Member of Parliament for Manhyia-North, Hon Collins Owusu Amankwah for fighting to get roads in the Buokrom Estates awarded on contract before leaving office.
Speaking to the Ghanaian Observer Newspaper on Wednesday, Mr Osei-Poku said the contractor, JOSHOB would soon fix all portions on the routes.
He noted that it took the intervention and lobbying skills of the former MP to ensure the roads were captured on those to be fixed when the Minister of Roads and Highways, Hon Amoako Atta visited the constituency in 2019.
The contract, Mr Osei-Poku noted, was initially awarded to DHL, a Chinese Company but the latter could not complete the roads on schedule due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
MORE DETAILS:
Mr Poku added that the contract was subsequently re-awarded to JOSHOB Company in 2020 to continue with the works in the Bukorm Estates including Buokrom South-Africa.
As part of the contract, Mr Poku said all routes in the Buokrom would see high grade asphalt on the roads.
He noted that it is the intention of the government led by Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to give the residents quality work.
This, Mr Poku forms part of the NPP agenda to construct good roads in all parts of the country with Ashanti and Manhyia North benefitting immensely from the same.
