Prior to the Ashanti regional delegates conference which was held at Baba Yara Stadium, Chairman Wontumi reveals that he thought he had surrounded and formed acquaintances with people he could call friends but it turned out majority of them were ‘Brutus’.
The Ashanti Regional Chairman for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) stated on Wontumi TV that despite winning the election, he felt betrayed by the actions of certain people he thought were his friends.
During the election process, Chairman Wontumi disclosed that he saw and heard people make statements that showed that they were against his ambition of being retained as Ashanti Regional Chairman.
“People betrayed me big time”, he sadly said.
Chairman Wontumi continued that his heart beat whenever he discovered the plot of men he considered to be his friends; noting that all he could say at the time was “Brutus, are you also part?”
“They wanted to prevent me from getting what is rightfully mine. I thought I had friends but statement and things they said about me, made me have a change of mind”, he said.
