Breaking The 8 Shouldn’t Be Slogan But Call For Hard Work —– Asabeee

Hon Stephen Asamoah Boateng, aspiring national chairman for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has charged the students wing of the party to brace themselves up for hard work ahead of the 2024 general elections.

This, he noted, would be the only way the NPP would be able to do more than two terms in government.

Addressing the University of Education- Winneba (UEW) wing of the Tertiary Students Confederation of NPP(TESCON) last Saturday, Hon Boateng intimated the need for students to lead the charge for hardwork and dedicated service.

“Breaking the eight should not only be a slogan but it must be tackled with a new sense of urgency and diligence to bring prosperity to our dear motherland”, Hon Boateng passionately stressed.

He commended the students wing for the theme for the conference which was; “Mobilising for 2024 Election and Beyond, the role of TESCON”, adding that, ‘it was appropriate for the times’.

COMMENDATION:
Hon Asabeee, however, commended the TESCON wings for their exemplary sacrifices over the years.

He narrated how elements within the students front ensured the NPP was fully represented at polling stations across the country in the 1992 general elections.

The aspiring Chairman mentioned the raw beatings and torture some of the students had to endure particularly in the Volta Region which was a ‘no go zone’ in the 1996 and 2000 general elections.

“I commend TESCON for their consistency and commitment towards anything NPP and implore these great committed Patriots to do more in this crucial moment of our political dispensation where it is gradually becoming a normalcy in Ghana that every political party is entitled to only two terms in government”, Asabeee posited.

PROMISE:
Hon Asabeee disclosed his intention to provide stipends to the students wing when he assumes the position as National Chairman of NPP.

He noted that this would be a token from the party to students and in appreciation of their sacrifice and dedicated service over the years.

“I assure TESCON firmly of my commitment, as the next National Chairman of NPP, to restore stipends to the Confederation”, Hon Asabeee stated.
