Breaking The 8: I’m Pledging 70,000 Votes From My District- Koforidua MCE

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of New Juaben South, Hon. Isaac Appaw-Gyasi, has stated that come what may the mantra of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) breaking the eight will be realized.

In an interview with Kwaku Dawuro at the ongoing 2022 National Delegates Conference at the Accra Sports Stadium, the MCE indicated that ”breaking the eight is possible and it will happen. In 2008 we almost broke the eight because in the run-off we won during the first round. Interestingly, it was with President Akufo-Addo we nearly broke the eight- Although he wouldn’t lead the party into the 2024 elections, he will support us achieve that.”

“But this wouldn’t be an easy task though, it requires hard work. If all Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCE’s) will work towards this target to ensure that the party wins massively in their various districts. I’m pledging to ensure that the NPP garners 70,000 votes from my district and I’m challenging all other MMDCE’s to do same and with this we will definitely break the eight”, he added.

Stressing that “this time around we are working with unity for a purpose and that will help us realize our dream of breaking the eight”.
