BREAKING: Tanker Explosion Leaves Residents Homeless At Kaase (PICTURES)

Hundreds of residents have been left homeless following a tanker explosion at Kaase, a suburb of Kumasi.

This comes less than 24 hours of the Bogoso – Apiate disaster that has claimed several lives.

No casualties were recorded but properties and undisclosed amount of cash have been burnt into ashes.

About 25-30 structures were also burnt.

The inferno was doused by the Asokwa Divisional Fire Service.

An eyewitness who spoke exclusively with wontumionline’s Nana Owusu Achiaw said that the sad incident occurred today between the hours of 2:00- 3:00 PM.

He explained, “the tanker has been parked here since morning and some tricycle riders came to drain some of the fuel and as a result, one tricycle engulfed fire and it got transferred to the tanker.

“Lot of properties have been destroyed. We couldn’t even take a pin. This is the only cloth I have on me now. We are more than a hundred here and we don’t know where we will sleep,” another eyewitness cum resident bemoaned.

They are however appealing to the city authorities for help.

An attempt to speak with the Fire Service team proved futile.
