BREAKING: Parliament Approves 2022 Budget

The Parliament of Ghana has, by a majority decision, passed the 2022 Budget statement.

The budget was passed after 137 Members of Parliament (MPs) voted yes for the motion on whether the budget should be accepted or rejected.

This comes after the Second Deputy Speaker, Joseph Osei Owusu, sitting in for Alban Bagbin, supervised an election to overturn the rejection of the budget by the House on Friday, November 26, 2021.

The exercise was held without the participation of the Minority MPs who did not attend Parliamentary proceedings on Tuesday.

The First Deputy Speaker, Joseph Osei-Owusu, prior to posing the question, ordered the table office to count the number of MPs in the House.
