The founder of Ghana Music Awards – UK, Alordia born Nii Ofori Tackie, opined that Stonebwoy and King Promise deserve ‘Artiste of the Year’ crown due to their hard work.
“Every year comes with a debate as to who deserves the Artiste of the Year crown at the Ghana Music Awards but both Stonebwoy and King Promise have worked very hard,” he said.
“This year particularly these two artistes have really done exceedingly well so it would be very difficult to sit down and say that King Promise or Stonebwoy deserves it unless I go back to check their streaming numbers”.
During an interview on Cape Coast-based Property FM, he disclosed that the only thing that can be used to determine who emerges top will be digital streams and YouTube views.
“To me YouTube views and streaming counts a lot and regarding Ghana Music Awards UK we also look at the comments which is important to determine who wins the Artiste of the year.
“Before I decide on who wins unless I get time to look at the streams King Promise had also that of Stonebwoy coupled with their YouTube views and comments but both of them deserve it,” he stated as MyNewsGh.com monitored.
