Telecommunications giants MTN Ghana has committed the cedi equivalent of $2million to the team ahead of their participation in the tournament.
MTN Ghana in its performance report for the nine-month period ended September 30, 2022, said it was proud to be a headline sponsor of the Black Stars.
It said the money was to support the Black Stars to make the nation proud.
“As a nation connected through football and with rich football history, MTN will join all Ghanaians in support of this national agenda, and we would like to wish the Black Stars the very best as they make the nation proud in Qatar,” the report said.
The Black Stars are scheduled to play Portugal on November 24, South Korea (on November 28) and Uruguay (December 2) in Group H of the World Cup.
MTN Ghana’s service revenue grew by 27.9% to GH?7.1 billion for the nine-month period ended September 30, 2022.
