Black Queens Head Coach Names 24-Player Provisional Squad For WAFCON

Black Queens head coach Kim Lars Björkegren has unveiled a 24-player provisional squad as Ghana intensifies preparations for the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

The squad features several key names, including Princella Adubea, Doris Boaduwaa, Evelyn Badu, Grace Asantewaa, Anasthesia Achiaa, and veteran defender Portia Boakye.

In a notable inclusion, four players from the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League have earned call-ups.

Comfort Yeboah and Nancy Amoh from Ampem Darkoa Ladies, Afi Amenyeku of Northern Ladies, and Kerrie McCarthy of Kumasi Academy will all be part of the training camp.

Ghana has been drawn into Group B, where they will face South Africa, Tanzania, and Mali in the group stages.

The 2024 WAFCON will take place in Morocco from July 5 to July 26, 2025.
