Bishop Obinim Arrested And Fined For Fixing Siren On His V8

The Ghana Police service has taken to its official Facebook page to announce that Ghanaian preacher, Bishop Daniel Obinim has been arrested for violating the laws of the country.

The founder and leader of International Godsway Church, Bishop Daniel Obinim, and his driver Eric Kofi Agyeman have found themselves in the bad books of the police as they have been fined an amount of GH₵1,200 by Akropong Magistrate Court for fixing strobe lights and sirens on the car of the man of God.

The police statement reads…

“Court frowns on fitted strobe lights and sirens on private and commercial vehicles.

“The attention of the Police was drawn to a video in which a Toyota Landcruiser with registration number GR 5150 – 22 was captured fitted with strobe lights and siren contrary to road traffic regulations 74 (1) of Road Traffic Regulation 2012 LI 2180.

“Police investigation upon a review of the video footage led to the arrest of the driver Eric Kofi Agyeman and the owner of the vehicle, Bishop Daniel Obinim. The driver and the owner of the vehicle were put before the Akropong Magistrate Court today and were fined to pay an amount of One thousand two hundred Ghana cedis (GHc1,200).

According to the police, it is unapproved for any commercial driver to use or fix strobe lights and sirens on their vehicles. They also disclosed that the strobe lights and sirens were removed by the police and retained.
