The CEO of Best Limited, Kingsford Antwi on Tuesday, 23rd January, handed over the Kwame Afreh Astro-turf’ To Hon. Dr. Stephen Amoah, Member of Parliament For Nhyiaeso.
In a ceremony at Kwadaso Estate a suburb in Nhyiaeso, the Astro-turf expert received a lot of applauds as the people of Nhyiaeso were overwhelmed by the magnificent project.
The project is a full stadium, with stands and flood lights that can enhance play even at night.
The completion and handing over of the projects, which started last year and funded by the GCB Bank and the MP, is expected to improve sporting activities in a conducive environment.
In his remarks ahead of the handing over, Kingsford Antwi reiterated the importance of the Astroturf for the development of young talented players in the community and country at large.
He said Best Limited is committed in construction of quality pitches for Ghanaian communities and for the development of young talented players.
“What we are seeing today is one of the projects that we keep doing in some constituencies across the country. This is another great job by our brand with the partnership of GCB, when they needed the best Astroturf, best was available. It’s standard with flood lights that can enhance play even at night and that’s what best is known for, always deliver the best to our societies”
The Managing Director of the GCB Bank, Kofi Adomakoh has given the assurance that the bank is well positioned to give back to society when the need arises.
Mr. Adomakoh said GCB Bank recognises sports and the development of sporting facilities in communities do not only provide young Ghanaians with an avenue to display their talents or sharpen them into becoming professionals but also help in the development of their character; moulding them into responsible, disciplined members of society.
He further urged the youths and good people of Nhyiaeso to ensure a high level of maintenance to preserve the pitch to last many years.
The Member of parliament for Nhyiaeso, Hon. Dr. Stephen Amoah, praised GCB for its commitment to ensuring every Ghanaian, directly or indirectly, benefits from their activities.
He also thanked the BestLtd for his good work, adding that, “I’m satisfied with the level and standard of the Astroturf”.
“I’ll always call on them when their any opportunity for me to construct an Astroturf in this constituency”
The MP said plans are underway to export players from the Nhyiaso communities to European countries, hence a reason for which he lobbed for the project.
He pledged the community’s readiness to use the facility for its intended purpose.
