Bernard Ahiafor Protected Some Ministerial Nominees During The Vetting Process- Lawyer John Darko

Member of Parliament for Suame constituency, Lawyer John Darko, has made startling allegations against the Chairman of the Appointments Committee, Bernard Ahiafor, claiming that he protected some ministerial nominees during the vetting process.

Speaking with Oheneba Nana Asiedu on Wontumi TV, he noted that some nominees were allowed to answer questions as desired, while others were shielded from scrutiny. He cited the example of Dr. Ayine, who appeared before the committee, and was asked about his involvement with a company that had filed a $300 million claim against the government.

Darko questioned Dr. Ayine’s propriety in representing the state in the matter, given his previous role as the company’s lawyer. However, Ahiafor allegedly prevented Dr. Ayine from responding to the question.

Lawyer Darko emphasized that this was just one of many instances where Ahiafor protected nominees, stressing that Ghanaians deserve to know the truth. As a member of the Appointments Committee, Darko’s allegations raise concerns about the transparency and fairness of the vetting process.
