The Member of Parliament (MP) for Manhyia South, Dr Matthew Opoku-Prempeh has urged newly trained 46 artisans in the three models from the College of Beauty, Arts and Entrepreneurship (CBAE) programme to teach others what they have learnt.
Speaking during the 2nd graduation ceremony at the Ashtown branch of the Apostolic Church on Friday, Dr Opoku-Prempeh said that the purpose of the training was such that beneficiaries could easily pass on same to relatives or friends.
Having facilitated the training and tooling of 90 beneficiaries on the same models last September, Dr Napo, as the legislator is fondly called, asked that the beneficiaries use the skills and training they had acquired to better their lives.
“I urge you to pass on the skills and knowledge you have acquired during these three months from CBAE officials to your relatives and friends so that together we can have a positive chain effect”, Dr Napo stated.
CBAE CEO:
Miss Rebecca Donkor, Chief Executive for the College of Beauty, Arts and Entrepreneurship (CBAE) said, the training given to the beneficiaries would stand them well and enable them to excel in the three fields, fashion technology, make-up artistry and hair technology.
Commending the Manhyia South MP for sponsoring the two-time training programme, Ms Donkor noted that the 136 beneficiaries trained so far could spark the provision of similar training to others if they were willing to teach others.
The CEO said skills acquisition was best suited for the country knowing that not all persons could secure employment in the public sector.
“I am confident that just as the earlier 90 persons who passed out are doing well, these 46 new beneficiaries would do same exploits as they also determine to pass on the training to friends and relatives”
CHAIRMAN:
Addressing the graduands and public, Barima Osei Kwadwo II, and Otumfuo Mamsenhene thanked the MP for the gesture.
He noted that the investment in people was the best form any person can get.
Barima Osei, therefore, urged the beneficiaries to use the training and the equipment provided for them to better their lives and that others they may find to employ.
“We know that government cannot provide all the jobs people would need and therefore I find it uplifting that Dr Napo would decide to train close to 150 people to acquire skills and entrepreneurship talents so they can become useful to society and Ghana 🇬🇭 at large”.
ITEMS PROVIDED:
Giving a breakdown of the items earlier, Miss Mina Antwi Yeboah Esq from the Office of the MP said, each beneficiary in the three models namely, hair technology, fashion technology and make-up artistry would receive a set of equipment.
She said those in the hair technology would receive washing basins, hand dryers, standing dryers, and hair straighteners.
Others in Fashion Technology, she noted would have cutting machines, industrial sewing machines, knitting machines and pressing irons.
