Bawumia’s Electric Cars Swap For Okada, Trotro Shows He Thinks Than Mahama– Chairman Wontumi

Very soon all old cars and motorbikes on our roads are going to be swapped and replaced with electric vehicles, Chairman Wontumi has hinted.

The Ashanti Regional Chairman for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, has praised vice President Mahamudu Bawumia for putting in place measures to make the swapping old cars for brand new electric cars easier for drivers.

In an interview with Wontumionline.com, the NPP Chairman popularly known as Chairman Wontumi stated that “this idea shows you how intelligent Bawumia is.”

“Bawumia has shown he thinks deeper than John Mahama when it comes to issues relating to Ghana’s economy. Electric cars are very good and efficient to run a 24-hour economy”, Chairman Wontumi said.

The Akufo-Addo government is proposing a National Transport Recapitalisation Project which, if implemented, will provide a lease-to-own option to all commercial drivers, including Okada operators, to exchange their old vehicles or bikes for newly-assembled ones in Ghana.

According to Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the issuance of national identity cards along with the implementation of the digital property address system, the mobile money interoperability and the universal QR Code, will all allow the development of a credit system with credit reference agencies to make the proposal work.
