The Parliamentary Candidate for Sekyere Afram Plains Constituency for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) , Mr. George Akom has praised Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia over Ghana’s digitalisation drive.
Speaking on the Wontumi Morning Show, George Akom said the digital agenda spearheaded by the Vice President has put Ghana on a trajectory that is far ahead of the entire policies and programmes of the NDC.
“We want to synchronize our system to have a robust database which will give us an opportunity to have a creditable environment”
“It’s painful when people joke with digitalization, the developed countries can’t write their achievement story without crediting digitalization. You will not believe the amount of money government pays into ghost accounts over the years but trust me with the vision of the vice president things are getting better and I know by the time he becomes the president there’ll be northing like ghost names on our payroll”
Ghana has embarked on a digital drive since the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government took over power in 2017, with Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia as its main proponent.
The Vice President argues that digitalisation is the only way for underdeveloped nations to fix the perennial problem of a domestic revenue shortfall.
The Parliamentary Candidate said Bawumia is literally ‘changing the [Ghanaian] society’ with his digital drive.
“It’s only the Vice president who’s vision can transform the country and I believe he represent the future”
