Professor Smart Sarpong has reignited the debate of making Hon. Alan Kyerematen the running mate to whoever emerges victorious in the impending New Patriotic Party (NPP) Presidential Primaries.
According to him, the issue of making Alan a running mate to vice President Bawumia once came up but died out due to attention it got.
He however stated that it will go a long way to help the party and introduce fresh energy to the base if Alan Kyerematen is given the running mate slot.
“I would have personally love to see the ticket of Dr. Bawumia and Alan or Kennedy Agyapong and Alan”, Professor Smart Sarpong said on the Wontumi Morning Show which was monitored by Wontumionline.com.
Hon. Alan Kyerematen has observed that after carefully analyzing the results from his party’s Special Delegates Conference, he has come to a conclusion that the process was strategically and tactically skewed in favour of one particular aspirant.
In a statement issued by Hon. Alan Kyerematen, he also indicated that certain pronouncements made by some leading members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), it makes him believe his observations were right.
“In light of the foregoing, I wish to confirm that I am honourably withdrawing from the process that will lead to the Presidential Primaries to be held onn the 4th of November 2023. In the next upcoming weeks, I will provide an indication of the role that I will play in politics in Ghana, after consultations with my family and other well-wishers, various stakeholders and interest groups.”
