Barbadian health officials welcomed 122 Ghanaian nurses at the Grantley Adams International Airport this morning.
They arrived on board Euro Atlantic around 8:50 a.m. to meet rainy conditions.
As a result, they had to be transported to an airbus after the exited the aircraft.
Deputy Chief Medical Officer Dr Anton Best and Executive Chairman at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) Juliette Bynoe-Sutherland were there to greet them.
The nurses are expected to improve the current shortage on the island.
Of the new arrivals, 66 will be sent to the QEH and 56 will be dispersed among the polyclinics and the Geriatric Hospital. (TG)
