A respected university lecturer and a man with clout in the Muslim fraternity, Ishaq Kyei Brobbey has bemoaned the rate at which former President John Mahama has been making certain statements and citing examples which are insulting if understood well.

Mr. Ishaq Kyei Brobbey stated on the Wontumi Morning Show which was monitored by Wontumionline.com that he has seen a video of Mr. Mahama poking fun at the people of Dagbon and Mamprugu for having chieftaincy succession conflicts.

According to Mr. Kyei-Brobbey, the former President recently visited his people and said he was happy to come from Gonja because they are able to find replacement for their chief when he dies.

This in Ishaq Keyi-Brobbey’s view, is an indirect insult to the people of Dagbon and Mamprugu that Mr. Mahama was targeting.

He went to Gonja recently and said that he is happy to come from the place because when their chief dies, they are able to find his successor and enskin him successfully with any fight…He is insulting the others who have issues enskinning news chiefs and they are all taking note . He wants to say they don’t have sense and the analogy is very clear…I believe he was taking at swipe at other places that have chieftaincy issues such as the people of Dagbon and Mamprugu”, Ishaq said.

Recently Mr. Mahama was accused of insulting the people of Ashanti when he toured some part of the Eastern region.

He is reported to have said that “Don’t be like Ashanti region. They are emotionally attached to the NPP that they don’t even think before voting for them. Don’t be like them. Your party and your son has led Ghana into a ditch, be bold to vote against them. Be different. Come back to the NDC in 2024 and we won’t neglect you this time”.
