Ashanti Regional Security Council Outlines Measures To Sanitize The Region
The Ashanti Regional Security Council headed by Hon. Simon Osei-Mensah has outlined measures to sanitize the Region.
Speaking at a presser monitored by Wontumionline, the Deputy Commissioner of Police, David Agyemang Adjem, stated that approximately 400 people lose their lives to road accidents annually.
With this, COP David Agyemang Adjem has said, the Police would be deployed to ensure road users adhere to traffic regulations.
“We have realized indiscipline on the roads is the biggest menace so we are urging motorists to respect the rules of the roads else they would be arrested and prosecuted,” he said.
For his part, the Acting Immigration Commander, ACI Charles Yaw Bediako said the Service is putting up holistic plans to evacuate road and street beggars.
He noted that a section of the beggers harass people for money.
“They scratch people’s cars when they refuse to give them money,” he revealed.
ACI Yaw Bediako advised motorists to also stop giving money to the beggars.
“We have reduced fire outbreaks to more than 20% this year,” Acting Fire Service Commander, Henry Giwah chipped in.
He revealed that, their biggest challenge is the manhandling of fire outbreaks by residents.
ACFO Henry Giwah explained that, people try to douse the fire when the fire fighters report late to the fire scene.
“A section of the youth prevent us from executing our mandate, and it is very bad,” he said.
The Acting Fire Service Commander indicated that, their contact numbers 112 and 192 are still active but the numbers that go directly to the Regional office are 0505001415/ 0507005153.
