Ashanti Region Deserves a National Chairman for NPP, Says Chairman Wontumi
Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, also known as Chairman Wontumi, has declared that the time has come for the Ashanti Region to produce the next National Chairman of the party.
Speaking on Wontumi TV with Oheneba Nana Asiedu, Chairman Wontumi emphasized the pivotal role the Ashanti Region has played in the electoral successes of the NPP over the years.
According to him, the region, often referred to as the party’s stronghold, has consistently delivered overwhelming votes and deserves greater representation at the national level this time.

The Ashanti Region has stood solidly behind the NPP in every election, the backbone of the party, and it is only fair and strategic that it also occupy the National Chairman position.
Chairman Wontumi further emphasized the urgent need for the party to elect a bold and fearless leader — someone who can face the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) head-on and defend the NPP’s values and interests without hesitation.
“We need a leader who can go boot-for-boot with the NDC. Someone who will not compromise or negotiate with the ruling government when it comes to protecting our party’s interests, the one NDC fears most. As it stand, I’m the only person the NDC fears and I’m their target as well”
