Asamoah Gyan Apologises To Otto Addo, GFA Over Nonsensical Rants

Former Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan has retracted his strong-worded tweet to Black Stars coach Otto Addo and his technical team over the omission of the RSC Anderlecht midfielder from the 27-man squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup final play-off games against Nigeria.

Ashimeru, who is currently among the top performing Ghanaian footballers in Europe was snubbed by Otto Addo and his technical team for the Black Stars games against the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

His exclusion surprised the legendary striker which forced him to express his disappointment over the decision with a post on his official twitter account.
Gyan in his apology to his former teammate, Otto Addo now head coach of the Black Stars stated that the 24-year-old should have been given a call-up for the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers later this month.
The 36-year-old also admitted that he was carried by emotions to make such nonsensical statements.

Ashimeru has scored three goals and provided three assists in his 31 league matches for RSC Anderlecht.
The Black Stars will take on the Super Eagles of Nigeria in the 1st leg of the play off at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi on Friday, March 25, while the 2nd leg is scheduled for the Moshood Abiola stadium in Abuja on Tuesday, March 29, 2022.
