The Ashanti Regional Chairman for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, has described the National Democratic Congress’ rally at Assin North as a flop.

Addressing a rally at Assin Breku, the NPP Chairman popularly known as Chairman Wontumi told a charged crowd that he has tracked and monitored every movement of the NDC at Assin North and he can state on authority that their campaign in the area has been a huge flop.

He partly credited the presence of President Akufo-Addo in the area for having a negative effect on the NDC.

“Yesterday I was here and monitoring the NDC’s rally and God did not give them his blessings. Today Mahama was here and as soon as he heard Akufo-ddo is here, he went into hiding”, Chairman Wontumi said.

Chairman Wontumi also revealed that he has crosschecked from the records of the National Lottery Authority (NLA) and can boldly confirm that James Gyakye Quayson, the NDC’s parliamentary candidate doesn’t even own a “lotto kiosk” at Assin North.

“I called Sammi Awuku, he is the Director of Ghana lotteries and I asked him if their records show that Gyakye Quayson has a lotto kiosk at Assin North and he said no. Such a person can’t him the people of Assin North so on Tuesday I expect you to vote for Charles Opoku”, the NPP Chairman said.

Chairman Wontumi made the above comment at Assin Breku during a massive victory rally for Charles Opoku.

He ended by stating that just as the NPP won the Kumawu by-election, they would win the Assin North seat as well.
