Andy Owusu Honoured By NPP-UK Women’s Wing
An NPP UK Branch Chairman hopeful, Andy Owusu has been honoured in London at the Women’s Wing’s new year party.
Mr Owusu was presented with a citation for his tremendous and long standing support to the Branch party including the Women’s wing.
Presenting the citation to Mr. Andy Owusu, Madam Shirley Kyei who doubles as the Branch Women Organiser and now deputy CEO of Minerals Commission in Ghana said she was enthused with the sterling support the wing has enjoyed from Mr Andy Owusu.
She noted that the aspiring chairman had over the years donated money and offered advice to the wing.
The citation read “Mr Andy Owusu, this citation is given in recognition of your invaluable contribution to advancement of women of Ghana and in particular, women in politics.
Furthermore, your service to the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection since 2017 is testament that gender parity is not just good for women but for every society which is serious about reducing poverty, promoting sustainable development and building governance.“
It further reads “On behalf of all women and, in particular, women in politics, the NPPUK Women’s Wing which you have loyally supported since 2010 would like to recognise commitment to thank you for your efforts.”
APPRECIATION:
Receiving the citation, Mr Owusu said he was grateful for the recognition.
He promised to selflessly dedicate his life to duty for the NPP.
Mr Owusu also promised to continue to do what comes naturally to him in making the NPP stronger.
He pledged his unflinching support to the Women’s wing in their role in making the Branch party stronger.
UK YOUTH SECRETARY:
Speaking to this reporter later, Thomas Oheneba Boakye, NPP-UK Youth Secretary said the award would strengthen Andy Owusu’s determination to lead the branch as chairman.
He said the aspiring chairman was selfless, focused and generous.
Mr Boakye also described the Chairman hopeful as a true gem of a gentleman who was honest and dedicated to the course of the NPP.
