Alban Bagbin Denies Leaving GBA For ‘NDC’ Law Association- Lawyer Ampaw Reveals (VIDEO)
Rt. Hon. Alban Bagbin

Speaker Alban Bagbin has denied in a telephone interview with lawyer Maurice Ampaw reports that he has shifted camps by joining another association which is an offshoot of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Reports were rife that Ghana’s Speaker of Parliament has opted to join the Law Society of Ghana (LSG) and ceased to be a member of the Ghana Bar Association (GBA).

But addressing the issue on Wontumi TV last Sunday, lawyer Maurice Ampaw revealed that the Speaker informed him in a telephone interview that the reports were never true and is “propaganda”.

He (Bagbin) has not left the Ghana Bar Association”, lawyer Ampaw simply said.

The astute lawyer blamed former President John Mahama for sharply dividing lawyers in Ghana by hanging political tags around the necks of some.

Lawyer Ampaw described the GBA as a neutral body and members of the association as persons who have been trained in the legal profession with honor.

It must be noted that the LSG was formed on the instructions of former President John Mahama who is not a lawyer and is led by the Member of Parliament for South Dayi, Hon. Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor.
