Former President John Mahama and Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Mr. Ofosu-Ampofo, have been named by the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party as brains behind the senseless robbery that took place at Alabar leaving one person dead and several others injured.

Speaking on the Security Tips Show which airs on Wontumi TV, Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako popularly known as Chairman Wontumi stated that previous statements by the two NDC stalwarts have proven beyond doubt that they are bent on making Ghana ungovernable by inciting criminals to create confusion for the Akufo-Addo led government.

It would be recalled that Mr. Ofosu Ampofo and a member of the party’s communications team, Kwaku Boahen have been accused by state prosecutors of plotting to undertake series of criminal activities targeted at EC Chairperson, Jean Mensa and others including National Security operatives.

Mr. Ofosu Ampofo was caught on tape talking about the creation of a general state of insecurity in the country through kidnappings, arson and verbal attacks on public officials.

It is on this note that Chairman Wontumi stated that the rampant robberies in Ashanti Region can easily be linked to what Ofosu Ampofo previously said.

We don’t have to move away from the fact that John Mahama and Ofosu-Ampofo are involved in the insecurity in Ashanti region“, Chairman Wontumi pontificated.

He also commended the security agencies for quickly making an arrest shortly after the incident took place warning the NDC that “in security you can succeed one and two but not three, four and five; you can’t“.

He continued that the security in Ashanti region is up and would ensure that there is absolute peace in the region with less than 35 days to the general elections.
