President Nana Akufo-Addo will inaugurate several hospital projects today, December 5, 2024, under the flagship Agenda 111 initiative.
The facilities set for commissioning include the Atwima Kwanwoma Municipal Hospital at Trede and the Oforikrom Municipal Hospital, both in the Ashanti Region.
Akufo-Addo will also be expected to commission the Okere, Jumapo and Kwabeng Hospitals all in the Eastern region as well as the Ahanta West in the Western region.
The facilities are part of a broader plan to construct 111 districts and specialised hospitals nationwide.
The Agenda 111 projects, officially known as Ghana’s Priority Health Infrastructure Projects, aim to provide quality healthcare across the country.
The initiative comprises seven regional hospitals, two regional psychiatric hospitals (for the northern and middle belt zones), and one new national psychiatric hospital in Accra.
