Akufo-Addo Has Made Education Cornerstone Of Ghana — Bawumia

Akufo-Addo has made education the cornerstone of Ghana -Bawumia intimates.

The Vice President of Ghana, Dr.Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia, has stated the government of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has made education the cornerstone of our development agenda.

According to him, no nation can develop without a good education and so this is why Nana Akufo-Addo with so much vision introduced the Free SHS education policy.

“For now, 1.2 million students are benefiting from the Free SHS , adding that government has doubled the capitation grant, abolished the examination fees for BECE and WASSCE , where students would no pay any fees as well.” he told the function.

Bawumia made these statements when he commissioned a 12-unit classroom block at Effiduase Senior High and
Commercial School (EFFISCO) yesterday in the Effidause District of the Ashanti Region.

FREE SHS PROGRAMME:
The Free SHS policy, Bawumia stated is the most important intervention that has been introduced in Ghana since independence.

He said: ” There is no bigger social intervention and you can go to school.  You have your free textbooks and free uniforms. This will help change Ghana in the next fifteen years.

The Vice-President told the students of EFFISCO that  Akufo-Addo wants Ghanaian children to attain university degree.

LOAN FACILITY:
As a result of that, veep  the NPP government has introduced a loan facility to help Free SHS  students access university education.

This loan, Bawumia explained that it would be paid after the students have completed their National Service , with a one year grace period after completion of national service.

In another development, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, as part of his campaign has inspected the Juaben Oil Mills under 1D1F initiative.

At the facility, the veep was walked through the rate of work which had been done at the factory.
