Akosua Serwaa Arrives In Ghana Ahead Of Late Lumba’s Celebration Of Life

After months of intense back-and-forth among family members of the late Ghanaian highlife legend, Daddy Lumba, over a possible second funeral ceremony, new developments have emerged.

It may be recalled that the late musician was laid to rest on December 13, 2025, at the Baba Yara Stadium, following a series of disputes between Abusuapanyin Kofi Owusu and the musician’s sister, Ernestina Fosu.

Following the burial, his first spouse, Akosua Serwaa, and Ernestina Fosu (Lumba’s elder sister) scheduled March 28 to honour the memory of the highlife legend.

In a recent development, a video of Akosua Serwaa has surfaced on social media, indicating that the singer’s first surviving spouse has arrived in the country to honour the memory of her late husband.

In footage making waves online and sighted by GhanaWeb on March 24, 2026, Akosua Serwaa was seen at the Accra International Airport, where she was welcomed by Papa Shee, Mama China, Ernestina Fosu, and a group of devoted supporters identified as Team Legal Wives.

Speaking ahead of Akosua Serwaa’s arrival, Ernestina Fosu expressed her deepest gratitude to Ghanaians for their support during their time of grief and challenges.

“All I want to say is may God bless everyone. May He bless them for their time, energy, and the love they have shown Lumba. He is my younger brother, and I want to celebrate him and be able to grieve properly because I wasn’t able to do that,” she said.

Meanwhile, Akosua Serwaa and Ernestina Fosu are scheduled to appear before an Accra High Court for a ruling on whether an injunction will be placed on the planned celebration of life after the court granted Abusuapanyin Kofi Owusu leave to file for an injunction.
