Afrochella CFO Threatens To Drag Asakaa Boys To Court With Receipts

Since their performance at the Block party in 2020, the Asakaa boys have maintained that they offered their services for free. But they were ditched by Afrochella organisers when the paid-for festival came back on track.

The Co-founders/organisers, Kenny Agyapong Jnr and Edward Adjaye have refuted these allegations. They also threatened to drag the Kumasi drill group to court should they continue to peddle lies against the Afrochella brand.

During an interview with Jay Foley, Kenny recounted the events that led to the whole brouhaha. He said, “That time was during COVID times, so we couldn’t do anything in the stadium. So we literally did a free event. Even in Ghana, people could not come in. So during Christmas, let’s do something for the people. So it was a free event.

“That’s where I’m really surprised. That they said they were not paid because we directly sent the money to the manager. It was two payments. The transportation payment and the performance payment. It’s funny how they mentioned being flow out here because, originally, we wanted to fly them out and they told Pisstick again that they are already in Accra. So we should rent them a van for them to come.”

He also revealed the mode of payment to all performers at the event, including receipt of transactions. Kenny Agyapong handed these documents over to the host, who read out names and dates on them.

“Everyone for that single event was mobile money. Mobile money or bank transfer. This is the folder from the block party.”
