AFCON 2021: I Had Little Time For Preparations – Ghana Coach Milovan Rajevac
Ghana coach Milovan Rajevac has said he had little time to prepare the Black Stars for the AFCON 2021, hence the team’s abysmal performance in the ongoing tournament in Cameroon.
The Black Stars is yet to win a single game in the AFCON after two matches, losing to Morocco and sharing spoils with Gabon in the second game of the tournament.
Ghanaians have criticized the Black Stars performance in the tournament and tactical knowledge of the Serbian tactician.
But at a press conference on Monday, January 17, 2022, coach Milovan Rajevac believes inadequate time for preparation is the reason behind the Black Stars unimpressive form in the AFCON.
“Communication is not a problem and they [players] understand me very well. Just didn’t have enough time to prepare the team.
“We don’t have the same team like 2010. Not enough time for preparations. We don’t have a player like Asamoah Gyan”, he said..
Milovan Rajevac was appointed the head coach of the Black Stars in September, 2021 after the sacking of CK Akonnor.
Ghana will have to beat Comoros convincingly in last group game of the AFCON 2021 on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 before securing ticket to the knockout stage of the tournament.
