AFCON 2021: Ghana Black Stars Arrive In Cameroon(PICTURES)

The Black Stars of Ghana has arrived at the tournament venue, Cameroon for the 33rd edition of the African Cup of Nations.

Coach Milovan Rajevac announced 28 final squad but 25 made the trip today until Ajax agrees to release the midfield dynamo, Kudus Mohammed with Kamaldeen Sulemana and Philemon Baffour yet to join in Cameroon.

Initially, the team’s departure date for Cameroon was 5th January but it was adjourned to 7th January due to the late arrival of players and also there are friendly against the title holders, Algeria which they lost by 3-0.

Ghana is the third most successful winner in the history of the African Cup of Nations with four trophies. The contingent is set to fight for their fifth honor after 40-years. The last time Ghana played in the finals was in 2015 against their neighbors, Ivory Coast, and lost at the penalty shootout.

In few hours, the AFCON will kick off with an open game between Cameroon and Burkina at the Olembe Sports Stadium, Yaoundé.

On Monday, 10th January, Ghana will start the journey with Morocco in Group C opener at Stade Ahmadou Ahidjo, Yaoundé.
