A communicator of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Ellen Ama Daaku, has said Adwoa Safo’s disrespectful behavior will shut off the chances of other women who aspire to attain higher positions in government and in the party.
She said this on Movement In The Morning With Kwaku Dawuro on 17th August, 2022.
She said, ”the women in the party were very happy when she won, and the ultimate was when she was appointed as the Minister for Gender and the deputy majority leader. We have always wanted more women to be recognized in the party but Adwoa Safo has disappointed us. His Personal Assistant (PA) is annoying Ghanaians-he should stop talking. The letter she released shows she is impudent. She is blocking opportunities for a lot of women in the party. We lost major seats in Wenchi, and we don’t want to loose the Dome-Kwabenya seat as well. The National Democratic Congress (NDC) was in close contest in the last elections. Serving party and government is a full responsibility especially for women. The men in the party have become very supportive in making more women attain higher positions in government”.
She added that Adwoa Safo’s attitude is giving a negative impression about women in higher positions.
