A/R: MTN Donates Cash, Food Items To Chief Imam Ahead Of Eid-Ul-Fitr Celebration

Telecommunications giant, MTN has donated food items to the Ashanti Regional Chief Imam, Sheikh Abdul Mumin Haroun ahead of the 2022 Eid-ul-Fitr celebration.

The donation was performed on Friday, 30/04/2022 at the Central Mosque in Kumasi.

Food items donated were six bags of rice, three cartons of Vegetable oil, sixteen packs of mineral water, eleven packs of soft drinks, and a ram

In addition to the donation was an amount of Ghc 2000.

The General Manager for the MTN Northern Sector, Nii Adotey Mingle in an interview with wontumionline.com, said the Muslim communities are vital stakeholders for MTN hence the donation.

According to Nii Adotey Mingle, MTN Ghana has been doing the donation for a while but the outbreak of the COVID-19 became an obstacle to halting the donations.

He said the telecommunications giant will continue to support Muslims.

Nii Adotey Mingle disclosed that besides Ashanti Region, Western, Northern and Greater Accra Regions received their share of the donation.

 

The MTN Ghana General Manager urged Muslims to continue to observe the COVID-19 protocols.

For his part, the Executive Secretary of the Kumasi Central Mosque, Ustaz Ahmed, extolled MTN for its kind gesture.

Ustaz Ahmed recalled that this is not the first time MTN Ghana has lent a helping hand to Muslims during a festival.

He affirmed that Muslims are looking for better cooperation with MTN Ghana.
