Chairman Wontumi has given an assurance that the polling station and electoral area coordinators elections to held, would be free and fair in Ashanti Region.
He is of the view that holding a free and fair polling station and electoral area coordinators elections, would easily win his party the 2024 general elections.
He pointed out that even with the help of the former EC Chair and her deputy, the NPP managed to win the 2016 elections because they had successfully organized their polling station and electoral area coordinators elections.
“Even with Amadu Sulley and Charlotte Osei, we (NPP) still won the 2016 elections because we did the right thing”, Chairman Wontumi said.
The NPP Chairman in an interview on Wontumi TV which was monitored by Movementtvonline.com and Wontumionline.com, stated that he would ensure every aspirant is fairly treated in the process leading to the election scheduled for 25th February, 2022.
“We must give everyone a fair ground to contest this election. From 25th February, we would start electing our polling station officers. And everyone aspirant can pick the forms for free in Ashanti region”, Chairman Wontumi disclosed.
The NPP opened nominations for the candidates for polling station executives and electoral area coordinators last Saturday and is scheduled to be closed today(Monday).
Vetting of aspirants is due for February 22 to 24, 2022 while the conduct of elections will take place from February 25 to March 5, 2022.
