A respected lecturer with the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Dr. Emmanuel Amankwah, is championing for a Dombo to be chosen as the next Presidential candidate for the New Patriotic Party.
His call comes on the back of a statement by Mr. Hopeson Adorye that the tradition of the NPP only recognizes Northerners as running mates and not flagbearers of the party.
The comment by Mr. Adorye has been heavily condemned and contributing to the issue, Dr. Amankwah, if steps are not taken to make a Dombo a flagbearer of the NPP, it would harm the fortunes of the party in any future elections.

“It is time to turn the equation. Dombo should also be considered to lead for a danquah or Busia to partner him. Else the dombos would consider themselves of a less people which can harm the fortunes of the party”, he said.
Alan must condemn the statement
He challenged the Trade Minister, Mr. Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanten, to condemn the statement by Me. Adorye warning that failure to do so, could harm his campaign.
“Alan’s camp hasn’t condemned the statement but this can bring sympathy to the Dombos…Are you more superior than the Dombos?” he quizzed.
