A Call To Reject President Mahama’s Deception

As Ghana commemorates 68 years of independence, NPP-USA proudly honours the resilience of our people, and the strides made toward national progress. However, this year’s celebration is overshadowed by the blatant betrayal of Ghanaian workers by President John Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

On a day meant to symbolize freedom and self-determination, Mahama has introduced a new form of economic bondage—mass revocation, systemic economic regression, and ruthless political victimization.

BETRAYAL OF WORKERS: AN INDEPENDENCE DAY OF INJUSTICE

Instead of celebrating freedom from oppression, Ghanaians are witnessing a new form of tyranny; ruthless mass firings orchestrated by John Mahama, the “Terminator-in-Chief.” While Independence Day symbolizes emancipation, thousands of hardworking public servants were thrown into joblessness just weeks before Ghana’s 68th independence anniversary; all at the hands of the very man who now urges the youth to “take the future into their own hands.”

This is not just history repeating itself—it is a chilling reminder that under Mahama, no Ghanaian worker is safe.

The hypocrisy is glaring:

How can a leader encourage the youth to “take charge” while simultaneously dismantling the institutions that create opportunities for them?

How does he promise economic freedom while plunging thousands into joblessness?
This is not leadership; it is tyranny. Mahama has once again proven himself untrustworthy, deceptive, and incapable of steering Ghana toward true economic independence.
The youth will not be fooled. They will forever remember John Mahama as the “Terminator-in-Chief”—the leader who spoke of empowerment while sowing despair.

MAHAMA’S POLITICAL DECEPTION: USING RELIGION AS A SHIELD

John Mahama has perfected the art of deception, hiding behind the veil of Christianity to manipulate Ghanaians while implementing policies that cripple economic growth and destroy livelihoods.

Like a false prophet, he kneels in prayer by day yet wields the whip of economic oppression by night. His governance is not based on Christian principles but on calculated dishonesty and exploitation.

The Bible warns against wolves in sheep’s clothing (Matthew 7:15), yet Mahama continues to cloak his destructive governance in the language of faith and morality. His inaction in the face of suffering is a betrayal of the very Christian values he claims to uphold. Terminator 1.

HISTORICAL PRECEDENT: NO PRESIDENT HAS HUMILIATED GHANAIANS LIKE THIS

Even during Ghana’s most challenging economic periods, no president has weaponized a period of Independence Day celebration as a tool for mass economic oppression:

•Kwame Nkrumah (1957-1966) laid the foundation for human capital development, recognizing that a nation’s strength lies in its people.

•Jerry John Rawlings (1981-2001) adopted a sober and measured approach to governance, refraining from politically motivated job dismissals even while enforcing austerity measures.

* John Agyekum Kufuor (2001-2009) prioritized social protection programs, ensuring that workers had a safety net in times of economic hardship.

* John Atta Mills (2009-2012) promoted economic stability and investments in education, reinforcing long-term national growth.

* Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo (2017-2025) led a transformational era of human resource development, economic expansion, and social inclusion, prioritizing – Free SHS – Eliminating financial barriers to secondary education for all Ghanaian children.

JOHN MAHAMA: A REPEAT OFFENDER IN FAILED LEADERSHIP

Unlike his predecessors, Mahama has chosen to sabotage economic growth, eliminate opportunities, and disguise oppression as progress. His presidency has been marked by:

* Mass dismissals through politically motivated job purges.

* Unethical governance that prioritizes political survival over national prosperity.

* A complete disregard for Ghanaian workers, the backbone of our economy.

WHY MAHAMA CANNOT BE TRUSTED: A CALL TO REJECT HIS FALSEHOODS

Ghanaians must see through Mahama’s deception. His words on youth empowerment are hollow when compared to his deliberate actions to destroy jobs and livelihoods.

How can Ghana’s youth “step up” when Mahama has already removed the opportunities meant to elevate them?

Independence Day should be a time of unity and resilience, not a time of mourning over mass terminations and despair. If history has taught us anything, it is that leaders who betray their people under the guise of progress must never be given another opportunity to tighten their grip on power.

The NPP-USA urges all Ghanaians to reject Mahama’s cycle of deceit, victimization, and economic regression. We must refuse to be pawns in his dangerous political game.

THE CHOICE BEFORE US: FREEDOM OR TYRANNY

Ghanaians must decide:

1. Remain shackled by Mahama’s economic oppression and deception.

2. Reclaim our destiny—just as we did in 1957—by rejecting his failed leadership.

3. This time, the oppressor is not a colonial ruler but a president who has betrayed the very soul of our nation.

The NPP-USA stands against Terminator Mahama’s tyranny and calls on every Ghanaian to rise and reclaim the future we deserve.
