Amendments Always Stir Allegations, But I Will Stick to the Constitution – NPP General Secretary Assures
The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Frimpong Kodua, has Refuted concerns that recent constitutional amendments and internal decisions are designed to favor particular candidates within the party.
Speaking in reference to upcoming internal elections and constitutional adjustments on wontumi tv, Mr. Kodua noted that such allegations are not new in the party’s history.
“Since 1992, anytime there is an amendment, people begin to allege that it is intended to favor a specific candidate, It happened during the eras of President Kufuor, Nana Addo, Alan Kyerematen, and others. So it’s not a new development in our party.”
He stressed that while he cannot prevent party members from making such claims, he remains committed to fairness and transparency.
“I can’t stop those discussions, but what I can assure is that I will not do anything to favor any candidate. I will strictly act according to the constitution of our party,” he stated firmly.
