I Sponsored the 2014 Tamale Congress With 1Billion Cedi, Single Handedly Built A Constituency Office As Constituency Chairman- Wontumi

New Patriotic Party (NPP) Ashanti Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, has disclosed his competence of becoming the next national chairman of NPP.

According to him, he has been a selfless and dedicated member, consistently demonstrating his love for the party through various acts of support.

Chairman Wontumi recounted his history of financial support, stating that in 2014 and 2018, he paid for polling station, constituency, and regional forms for all those who contested for various positions within the party. He noted that in 2022, he decided to focus on the Ashanti region, even paying for the forms of his opponent in the chairmanship contest.

Speaking in an interview with Oheneba Aseidu on Wontumi TV, the NPP Regional Chairman also highlighted his contributions to the party’s national activities. He claimed to have sponsored the 2015 Tamale congress with a staggering 1 billion cedis, demonstrating his commitment to the party’s growth and development.

Chairman Wontumi’s dedication to the party’s cause extends beyond financial support. He recalled using articulator trucks to distribute uniforms, books, and pens across the country during the party’s lean years (2014-2016). He also mentioned that he used to contribute money monthly to the national party as a constituency chairman and sponsored every youth program within the region.

When asked about his motivation, Chairman Wontumi emphasized that everything he does for the party comes from his own resources, and he has never sought or received any government appointment. He proudly stated that he single-handedly built a constituency office during his tenure as Bosomtwe chairman.

With his impressive track record, Chairman Wontumi expressed confidence in his ability to lead the party as the next National Chairman. He cited his sterling performance as two-time Constituency Chairman and three-time Regional Chairman, asserting that these experiences have equipped him with the necessary skills and expertise to excel in the national role.

“I’m a good candidate for the national chairmanship position and I will win,” he said, adding that his selflessness, dedication, and competence make him an ideal choice to lead the party forward.
