Mahama Fails to Conduct Forensic Audits into National Cathedral, COVID-19 Funds – Executive Director of IERPP

The Institute of Economic Research and Public Policy, IERPP, has stung President Mahama for not conducting forensic audits into the Cathedral and COVID-19 funds as promised prior to the 2024 elections.

At a media event organized by the think tank, the Executive Director, Professor Isaac Boadi, stressed that despite his promise to look into the funds used for the National Cathedral and COVID-19, nothing substantial has been done.

“President Mahama, at the launch of his party’s manifesto in Winneba in August 2024, indicated that the two items would receive much attention within his first 120 days in power. Ladies and gentlemen, I can report to you that not much has been done in that regard” he said.

“When forensic audits stall, the truth is buried. The people deserve answers, not silence. President Mahama must audit the National Cathedral and COVID-19 funds as he promised. He missed that in his 120 days in power. He should do it now” Professor Boadi noted.

According to the IERPP boss, the government has scored zero of that promise and urged President Mahama to expedite the promise made as part of his first 120 days in office.

The think tank also touched on other thematic areas of the 120 days promise made by President John Mahama.

The Institute of Economic Research and Public Policy, prior to the event, had advertised that it had assessed the 120 days promises made by the Mahama-led NDC before the elections which it has reported on.
