A member of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) communications team, Mr. Agyemang, has criticized the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for allocating a substantial amount of money to its communications directorate.
According to Mr. Agyemang, the NDC’s decision to replace its propaganda secretary with a communications director is merely a rebranding effort, with the same propaganda tactics being employed.
He alleged that the government’s decision to allocate a whopping $78 million to Felix Ofosu Kwakye, the Minister of State for Government Communications, despite not having a full-fledged ministry, is a move to empower him with his propaganda agenda.
In contrast, he noted that the Akufo-Addo administration’s Ministry of Information had a budget of only $10 million, with a chief director and a full staff.
Mr. Agyemang questioned the rationale behind the significant allocation, suggesting that it may be intended to “throw dust into the eyes of Ghanaians” and enable the NDC to continue its alleged propaganda efforts.
He also linked the NDC’s opposition to the free Senior High School (SHS) policy to a desire to prevent Ghanaians from becoming more enlightened
