Teenager Arrested For Allegedly Shooting ‘Okada’ Rider To Death

A teenage boy is alleged to have shot and killed a commercial motorcycle rider, commonly known as an ‘Okada’ rider, at Adugyama in the Ahafo Ano South-East District of the Ashanti Region.

According to eyewitnesses, the suspect, believed to be 18 years old, fled the scene with the victim’s motorbike, leaving him to succumb to his injuries.

However, in a dramatic twist, the suspect was involved in an accident while escaping, leading to his arrest.

The incident occurred in the late hours of Tuesday, March 4, when the suspect allegedly shot the Okada rider before making away with his motorcycle.

He was later rushed to the Mankranso Hospital for treatment after the accident.

The situation escalated when a group of Okada riders, seeking justice for their fallen colleague, stormed the hospital.

Police intervened to prevent further violence and secured the suspect.

He is currently in police custody, assisting with investigations.

Meanwhile, the Adugyama community remains in shock over the tragic incident.
