Stop Portraying Yourself As A King When You Are Not- Lawyer Adom Appiah “Schools” Speaker

Ashanti regional secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Lawyer Adom Appiah, has cautioned Speaker of Parliament Alban Sumana Bagbin to desist from wearing full traditional regalia, emphasizing that such attire gives the impression that he’s a king, which he’s not.

Speaking on the Wontumi Morning show with Oheneba Aseidu, Lawyer Adom expressed his concerns about the Speaker’s recent dressing style, stating that it’s against the Chieftaincy Act to portray oneself as a king without being a legitimate traditional leader.

“It’s unacceptable for the Speaker to wear full traditional regalia, complete with ornaments and adornments, as if he’s a king. This is not only misleading but also undermines the institution of chieftaincy in Ghana,” Lawyer Adom said.

He emphasized that as Speaker, Bagbin holds a significant position in Ghana’s government, and his attire should reflect his role as a public official rather than a traditional leader.
