Former Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Hon. Catherine Afeku, has sounded a clarion call to the minority in parliament, urging them to demonstrate exceptional performance and unwavering commitment to the ideals of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Speaking on THE SPOTLIGHT SHOW WITH ISAAC OTOO on Movement TV, she emphasized that the attitude and performance of the minority in parliament will be crucial in determining the success of the NPP under the 9th government.
Hon. Catherine Afeku praised the minorities in parliament, led by Alexander Afenyo-Markin, for playing a major role in glorifying the NPP. She acknowledged the Herculean task ahead of them but expressed confidence that they will perform well and make Ghanaians proud. According to her, the minority’s performance will be instrumental in revitalizing the NPP’s fortunes and restoring the party’s reputation as a formidable force in Ghanaian politics.
Afeku noted that the NPP’s success in parliament will depend on the minority’s ability to hold the government accountable, propose innovative policies, and engage in constructive debate.
She urged the minority to be vigilant, proactive, and strategic in their approach, leveraging their numbers to influence decision-making and shape the national agenda.
Afeku concluded by urging party leaders to encourage party members and Ghanaians to work together to overcome the challenges facing the NPP. She emphasized the need for unity, solidarity, and collective action, stressing that the party’s fortunes can only be revived through a concerted effort by all stakeholders.
