Election 2024: NDC plan was to eliminate me – Ahafo-Ano South West MP

The Member of Parliament for Ahafo-Ano South West, Elvis Mensah Dapaah, has alleged that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) had planned to eliminate him during the 2024 general elections.

Speaking on Wontumi Radio/TV, the MP claimed that he had received intel from within the NDC, through a close source of the NDC, revealing a sinister plot to cause confusion and distract the electoral process.

According to the MP, after the NDC had collated their results, it became clear that they had lost the Ahafo-Ano South West parliamentary seat. In a desperate bid to overturn the outcome, the NDC allegedly hatched a plan to eliminate him, which would either lead to a by-election or allow the NDC to declare themselves the winners of the seat.

The MP expressed confidence that the people had voted for him, but the NDC’s alleged plans posed a significant threat to his life and the electoral process.

After a recount which was overseen by the Electoral Commission (EC), validated Dapaah’s victory with a total of 16,680 votes.

His nearest rival, Sedik Abubakar from the National Democratic Congress (NDC), garnered 16,540 votes, resulting in one of the most closely contested elections in the history of the constituency.
