A video of Ghanaian gospel singer Ebenezer Osei Kumi has sparked reactions online after he was seen battling serious health concerns.
In the video shared on X on September 2, 2026, the gospel musician was said to have been diagnosed with a liver disease.
According to the musician’s sister, the singer has been battling the disease for quite some time, adding that the medical bills have become overwhelming and the family is struggling to afford them.
While explaining the situation, she noted that they pay about GH¢15,000 every two days for his treatment and medical care.
According to her, they have been at the hospital for more than two weeks, adding that the medical bills continue to increase each day, leaving the family in debt.
Also, in the same video, the singer was seen struggling while attempting to speak and appeared to have a swollen body.
“I am Afia, and he is my elder brother. We came here last Monday. The doctors say he is not responding to treatment, and therefore, he needs to be taken out of the country for further treatment. They have yet to give us the fixed amount of money it will cost us to take him abroad.
“As he is here, we pay GH¢15,000 every two days. We are told his liver has been infected, and it’s causing him to swell. He can’t eat, so he’s being fed through a tube to aid him in eating and drinking water,” she said.
Afia also called for support from Ghanaians to come to their aid before she loses her brother.
