‘Due Process Must Be Followed’ – Gyakie Speaks After Pulling Out Of KNUST SRC Week

Ghanaian singer Gyakie has broken her silence following the controversy surrounding her withdrawal from the KNUST SRC Week celebration.

The songstress was announced as one of the performers for the KNUST SRC Week event scheduled for July 25, 2026.

However, a few hours before the event, she subsequently indicated she would not be making the appearance, sparking a wave of speculation online about the reasons behind her pullout.

Responding to the swirling speculation on Facebook on July 26, Gyakie did not specify the reason for her withdrawal but made it clear that artistes should not be expected to perform under conditions that fall short of what is right.

Why Gyakie pulled out of KNUST SRC Week

She insisted that artistes deserve to be treated right and that she stands by her decision

“I’m committed to giving my fans my best and always leave them with a memorable experience. I don’t care if anyone booed at me then or now, but due process must be followed and the right thing must be done to ensure that artistes give out their best. Stand for something or fall for anything,” she wrote.

While no official reason was given, netizens speculated the withdrawal was linked to payment disputes, and another pointed to a previous incident in which she was reportedly booed off stage during a performance years ago.
