Dr Henry Kwabena Kokofu, Esq has officially submitted his nomination forms to contest for the position of Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), pledging to unite the party’s ranks and expand its appeal across all demographics in the region.
Speaking after filing his forms, Dr Kokofu said his leadership would focus on making the party “attractive for the youth, the aged, men and women, and all persons and businesses within the region.” He outlined plans to roll out new strategies aimed at helping the NPP win more parliamentary seats in Ashanti Region and deliver more votes for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
Dr Kokofu pointed to his political journey from serving at the polling station level, to becoming Bantama Constituency Chairman, and later Member of Parliament as evidence of the experience and capacity he brings to the chairmanship race.
The aspiring chairman welcomed newly elected constituency executives into the fold and pledged to collaborate with them ahead of the 2028 elections.
He also called on current party executives to ensure that the six constituencies yet to hold their elections do so peacefully and in due course.
Dr Kokofu invoked the party’s past electoral victories, promising to channel similar effort into securing the presidency for Dr Bawumia.
“The energy, strategy, and effort used to bring former President Kufuor and Nana Akufo-Addo to power will be multiplied to bring Dr Bawumia to power,” he said.
He described his leadership style as “a blend of wisdom, academics, culture, knowledge and experience for victory 2028.”
