NPP Constituency Elections: George Akom calls for calm and unity among winners and losers

New Patriotic Party(NPP) Parliamentary candidate for Sekyere Afram Plains in the 2024 election, George Akom has urged delegates, contenders and all party members involved in the Constituency executive elections to unite and work hard for victory in 2028.

The former parliamentary candidate while speaking to Wontumi online at the Atwima Nwabiagya South Constituency during the election urged party members to not let the issues that surround the party sometimes create discontent in them.

He told them to rather focus on the series of elections taking place now and the next few months, as those are steps the party is also taking to help boost its restructuring and reorganization agenda.

“We are done with the electoral area and are now at the constituency level and I know we are doing all this to elect leaders who will help build and grow the party. We know that parties are like every other organizations with their own issues.” He said.
According to him, 2024 was a painful feeling every party member had to go through. And they cannot have part two of it.

“What happened in 2024 has taught us many lessons, that is why I’m calling on everyone who stood for the election to understand the party and be there for it,” he stated.

Mr. Akom advised the winners and losers of the election to keep the peace and work together.
He outlined, “after this contest I am urging all the victors of each portfolio to embrace unity by not sidelining the opponents they contested with. I am also pleading with all the losers to not let anger lead them.”

He reminded delegates of the party’s goal which is winning in 2028 and told them to work for the party.
“Every delegate here should understand that we are all here for the party, let’s come together to help the party grow.
What we want is for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to win the 2028 elections so he becomes President of the Republic.”
