A woman and two children have been found dead in floodwaters at Dome following heavy rainfall that caused widespread flooding across parts of the Greater Accra Region.
The bodies were recovered after floodwaters inundated sections of the community, adding to the death toll from Monday’s flooding. The identities of the victims have not yet been officially confirmed.
The incident comes as several parts of Accra, including Alajo, Kaneshie, Adabraka, Weija and sections of the Mallam–Kasoa Highway, experienced severe flooding after hours of torrential rain.
Homes were submerged, motorists were stranded, traffic was disrupted, and vehicles and other property were damaged.
Authorities have urged residents in flood-prone areas to move to safer locations when water levels rise and to avoid walking or driving through floodwaters.
The Presidency has also called on the public to remain vigilant, follow official safety instructions, and use the national emergency number 112 in flood-related emergencies.
The Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet) has warned of sustained heavy rainfall this week.
